Going the Distance is a film which is a romantic comedy. This movie is directed by Nanette Burstein. This movie is about a couple who are trying to maintain a long-distance relationship. In this movie, one of them would live in New York and the other one would need to study in California.

There are not many movies which would try to describe the feelings of people who are trying to keep a long-distance relationship. It is because the culture of world nowadays could hardly create such an atmosphere. Nowadays, people would not treat love seriously and only a certain portion of people would treat love seriously.

In developed countries, technology is filling the life of people and many people are flooded with the casual love ideas. They would think that it is not difficult for them to find boyfriends and girlfriends. They would not put effort to maintain a relationship which is of long-distance.

Therefore, this movie also contains a kind of thinking in this way. The sister of the girl always say that it is impossible to keep a long-distance relationship, and she thinks that men would not be willing to stop kissing a girl for years due to maintaining a long-distance relationship. On the other hand, the man was also having this kind of information from his friends. Therefore, challenges come. Despite the fact that the couple has strong belief in keeping the relationship, it is hard for them to trust each other because information all around is going on the opposite way.

After the release of movie Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck became the center of attention for the viewers and have acquired a renowned status. Ben Affleck has already convinced the public about his excessive professionalism and acting wisdom. Now, shortly after that great movie, Affleck is back on the screens again. The town is a movie that depicts crime, drama and is focusing upon the lower class of Boston. This movie is a far greater project that the previous movie (Gone Baby Gone).

The town has a large cast, greater and much developed plot, various car accidents and shootouts; this movie also includes a stickup in the Fenway Park. Overall, if we have to say something about this movie, it will not be wrong that the town is an overly ambitious and challenging plot to be realized. But, without any trace of doubt, this movie does produces the chill and thrill that is the prime motive behind such a movie.

Affleck has proven himself as a better director, when we consider his joint working efforts with Peter Craig and Aaron Stockard. The story line of this movie revolves around the gang of white trash Boston bank robbers. The story also brings into light woman who is in fascination of this gang of robbers. Now the FBI is also behind them and remains tailing the gang all around the town. Affleck is playing the role of Doug, who lives in Charles town. Doug’s father gets falsely convicted for being involved in a bank robbery that basically concerned Doug, and spends considerable time in jail. Meanwhile, Doug frustrates with life and circumstances.

Now Doug has a friend named Jim, the role of whom has been played by Jeremy Renner. Jim has accompanied Doug in the robbery. Now near the optimum point in the movie, the gang top figure, named Pete Postlethwaite, starts to place strain on the gang members. Krista, who is Jim’s sister, is looking towards Doug, while Doug is captivated by the haughty beauty of Posh Claire. Now Posh Claire is totally unaware of the reality of Doug and his feelings for her.

Now obviously, after sometime the romance fills surrounding atmosphere. However, eventually Claire has to make choice between her beloved Doug and the justice. Among all this chaos and urgency of situation, another FBI agent, named Frawley is after Doug since many years. He has all the significant evidences and is determined to put Doug behind the bars.

Now after going through diverse twists and turns in the plot line, the story finally mellows down into Doug consider to avert from the crime world. And, evidently the lime light of love has cast this spell over Doug. Now after all this reviewing and analysis, it is appropriate to say that The Town is one movie that may not be among the most outstanding creations; yet it may be considered worth a watch; the people who love these kind of movies should watch this out as they will like it.
