Despicable Me, the new animated from produced by Chris Melandandri, who also produced Ice Age: The Meltdown and Horton Hears A Who, is one of the summer’s stand out movies. Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Miranda Cosgrove, and Russell Brand are perfect actors to lead this at times hilarious, at times tear jerking animated tale. Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Danny R. McBride, Julie Andrews and Jermain Clement make for a worthy supporting cast.

Gru (voiced by Carell) is a evil genius who only wants to win the affection of his cold-hearted mother (voiced by Andrews), something he has NEVER had. His only friends are Dr. Nefario, a aging scientist (voiced by Brand), and his army of minions (voiced by directors Peiere Coffin and Chris Reneud, and Jermain Clement), Twinky like creatures with both one and two eyes, it varies.

When a mysterious newcomer named Vector (voiced by Segal) steals the Great Pyrimid of Giza, Gru decides to pull off the greatest heist EVER: stealing the moon! Then, three orphan girls, Margo (voiced by Cosgrove), Edith, and Agnes (both voiced by newcomers who names I don’t know.) The three of them don’t hit it off with Gru instantly, but they see him as the first real parent they’ve ever had. Gru slowly begins to warm up to the girls, and they’re interactions make for some truly heartfelt, and also hilarious moments. Case in point:

Edith: Are these beds old bombs? Gru: Yes. But, they are very old and highly unlikely to blow up. Try not to toss and turn.

Despicable Me pulls off something almost unheard of: a film that is enjoyable for both parents and children that does NOT involve humor centered around bodily functions, or violence.

Final grade: A Plus infinite number of times!

We especially love that the character Chris Redfield will make an appearance, played by former “Prison Break”er Wentworth Miller, who should find himself in more genre films in the near future. Extra-exciting is the notion that the whole thing looks like a long T.A.T.U. music video!

Actually, this is a sequel and you will surely watch the Resident Evil 4, if you have watch the first, second and third sequel. This is a horror and action film all in one. If you want to be thrilled and give yourself with a different adrenalin rush, then this film will suit you.

Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) in 3D is a power house cast of many great actors and actresses of this new generation. This is a science-fiction action and horror film that was written and directed by a well as renowned director Paul W. S. Anderson. The lead stars of the movie are Milla Jovovich, Kim Coates, Spencer Locke, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Boris Kodjoe, and Shawn Roberts. This film is the first sequel among the first four who will be shown in 3D. Here in the movie, the lead star Alice search and rescue all survivors from the Los Angeles T-virus outbreak that was happened during the Resident Evil- Extinction.

The Extinction was released during the years 2007 and it was a box-office hit that time. The development of the Afterlife sequel begun in the year 2008 and wrote by the same author. All the elements within the video game Resident Evil 5 were combined within the film. This film will surely bring again bucks of money as this will be a blockbuster movie of 2010. Since the last sequel Extinction, people are searching for survivors for the last episode. In the Afterlife the lead star Alice will come face to face to her rival who is Albert Wesker.

This is actually the selling point of the story because Alice has never met or come in contact with him. When Alice tried to enter the decimated city of Los Angeles, she will be stumbles in an area that is overrun by zombies. Alice will find out a small team of survivors to team up with her after the dreaded T-virus. Alice will also find out that there are group of non-zombie people that were imprisoned. Her mission is to recuse these people who were trapped.

Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) in 3D will once again rule the movie scene around the world. With this movie being in 3D, you need to expect that the price will be a pit expensive than non-3D movies. The movie is also available in non-3d format for movie goers who are on a budget. You can choose between 3D and non-3D movie. If you choose 3D expect that there will be a lot of body parts coming and flying around the screen for your own viewing pleasure. The Resident Evil Afterlife will surely hit the theaters like a wild fire. Make sure that you will be the one to watch it first.

If you are looking for total realism stand at a bus stop for two hours. It’s free. Seriously, I remember one of some well known critic’s favorite films was of watching someone paint a painting for three hours. If you are looking for a film that is more James Bond than James Bond with a little Bourne thrown in then see Salt. But you will have to wait and see how this film turns out and who the real heroes are. The film is nothing like Shutter Island or Inception which were good but were psychological and mind bending films and are not thrillers. It is certainly nothing like Toy Story either which is a kid’s film. There is no point to try and compare it to films that are not in the same genre. This is not a film for people preoccupied with gender, age, always trying to make a new concept or other things. It is a film full of imagination and excitement. It is great to see a film directed with no CGI. It is just done better, more interesting and was a surprise. Also, It is also interesting that a major Russian spy ring was broken up in the US this last month.

Jolie starts slowly and picks up speed like a railroad train. She is the best actress, hands down, of the era with films like this, Changeling, Mighty Heart and Beyond Borders. Jolie could get nominated for this film. She is completely versatile and pulls viewers with imagination into her films perhaps the best in Hollywood history over her career. Amazingly there is a major physical appearance change she makes in the film that I believe even her physical appearance at the Hollywood premiere was supposed to be slightly deceptive and made the movie physical change even more interesting. There was a point where I noticed early in the film that Jolie’s face seemed so much slimmer than usual and not her usual self. After a scene regarding teeth, you will be surprised at a physical appearance change, . Then there was even another change later in the film. The film rocks and rolls and is quite the opposite of the image of mindless American girls on their cell phones 24/7 who have no individuality. In reality, this is an inspiring action packed performance. There is so much depth to her character, intensity, mystery, and excitement. It is written that way but only Jolie can bring it to life.

A subtle look from Jolie can mean so much. I believe it is Jolie’s intelligence, knowledge of world affairs, and experience in foreign countries and war zones in real life that allows her to be so much more intense and interesting than most actors.

Great action thriller. The director did not feel the need to try and be falsely realistic by forcing lots of awkward swearing, pointless disturbing images or other phony realism that many modern films put in. This is not an art film, it is an action film, and an excellent one. Don’t know if there will actually be a sequel. It had an exciting ending and could have kept going. It certainly could have a good sequel. I expected a lot going in and it was great. There is also a fine supporting cast. It is worth seeing on a full screen. I am not going to give away any twists and turns for those who have not seen this excellent movie. Man, it was like being there.

If you have watched movies like Bounty Hunter and you like the style of that movie, you would know that The Switch would be your favorite as well. This movie would not target people who are interested in watching many exciting movies. You would not see gigantic scenes like those you would watch in the Transformer. And you would not be able to cry crazily just like you watch Click.

The Switch was originally entitled as The Baster and it is a kind of romantic comedy. Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman are starring in this film and this movie is directed by Josh Gorden as well as Will Speck. This is actually a story called “Baster” written by Jeffery Eugenides.

In this movie, Jennifer Aniston is starring Kassie Singleton while Jason Bateman would be her best friend Wally. Kassie originally planned to have a baby on her own so she tried to find a sperm donor so that she could be pregnant. But Wally was actually a guy who loves her and he was not happy with Kassie’s decision.

Wally knew that Kassie has treated him as her friend and he could hardly win the love from Kassie. Therefore, he could do nothing to stop Kassie from being this kind of single parent.

But when Kassie was holding the ‘insemination party’, Wally was drunk and he accidentally threw away the sperm from the donor. He then tried to use his own sperm to replace it. Seven years later, Kassie returned with her boy and Wally had to stay with Kassie and take care of the little boy together. The truth was revealed and these two adults faced challenges in their relationship. On the other hand, they had to deal with problems regarding the kid.

For people who are interested in watching a movie which would not have a sad ending, this movie would be suitable for them. Of course, I would not tell the ending here or otherwise you may lose your interest in watching this movie. But the fact is that this movie is not a very serious production and you should never set a high standard towards the quality of this movie.

This is just a movie for you to have laughers and you want to get rid of some sad feelings. If you hate spending money to watch a comedy, you should never watch this movie because you would surely be angry after watching it.

As mentioned above, the standard for judging this movie should not be high. Jennifer is doing her right job and Jason as well. They could create interesting moments and conversation between them is interesting. And after acting in several comedies, Jennifer has shown that she is great in creating a relaxing atmosphere in movies and she is good at starring in comedy. It is hoped that she could perform better in the foreseeable future if she is going to star in these movies again. Anyway, The Switch may be your cup of tea if you love to watch a movie with happy ending and you want to laugh.

Films about dreams and the subconscious are usually not very straightforward and almost always weird. “Inception” is no exception to that rule, but like its cinematic predecessors who have explored the contrast between and the questions of what is real and what is illusion (i.e. “The Matrix” (1999), “The Cell” (2000), “Abre Los Ojos” (1997) & its American remake “Vanilla Sky” (2001)), you really can’t look away, nor should you.

“Inception” is an excellent and breathtaking movie that may be one of the only films released so far during the Summer of 2010 that lives up to its hype. It is a nearly perfect and highly original film that holds your attention until the credits roll. The less you know about this movie going in, the more you will be entranced by seeing it.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a world class criminal who, with the help of a team of sleep experts, works his way into people’s subconscious and steals what people value most: ideas directly from their minds. In his last assignment to possibly clear his name, he is assigned not to steal an idea from someone, but to plant one inside that person’s mind. The difficulty comes when certain people are trained to block their ideas from being taken.

That plot summary only covers the basics of this pretty complicated story, but to describe every plot detail would take away the magic of this film you must see yourself to believe. DiCaprio is good in his role, but unlike many other films he has starred in, this is perhaps his only role where his character alone does not carry the weight of the movie on his shoulders or share it equally with one other co-star. Instead, this great ensemble cast teams together to make this movie work, just as their characters collaborate to pull off such a unique heist. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, and Tom Hardy are especially good in their roles.

The special effects in this film were also very good, which is amazing considering their simplicity compared to the “Matrix” movies. There are slow-motion shots, but no impossible kung fu fighting sequences. It’s especially interesting when the film gets into the architecture of certain dreams, and impossible sequences are filmed in a way I’ve never seen other than in drawings.

However, the special effects would mean nothing if the story wasn’t good. For this reason, even something as simple as a spinning top holds your attention in a way you would never think it would when seeing it in this film. The credit here can be given to writer and director Christopher Nolan, who has not made a bad film yet. There are many twists and turns in this film, but Nolan never loses his focus in the process of telling the story. If Nolan does not get nominated for Best Director and/or Best Original Screenplay next Oscar season, there is something terribly wrong with the Academy.

That being said, there was still a lot about this film I still don’t get, and may require multiple viewings to better understand. However, some of the best films I’ve seen are confusing at first. “2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968) is a film I’ve seen a couple of times, and still don’t understand completely. It still has a major following, though, as I’m positive this movie will. It’s an incredibly entertaining movie, but it also makes you think and continues to do so after you leave the theater.

Centurion (2010) – To Fight And Win

For people who love to watch movies like Warrior 300, Centurion may be their favorite. Again, this movie features something back to ancient time while guns were not advanced. People had to fight with their own weapons and it is a movie which could attract ladies because there are strong men fighting without clothes.

Centurion is a movie from Britain and the director of this movie is Neil Marshall. The ill-fated Ninth Legion in this movie was trying to march to Caledonia to remove the Picts and their leader. But things were not going in a smooth way. Picts launched a sudden attach and nearly all people died in this attack. As a result, the survivors would need to try their best to complete the mission and save their own life as well.

Yes, this kind of movie would be bloody and if you do not want to see a lot of bloody scenes, you should never go to watch this movie or otherwise you may fate. And this movie is not bad indeed. The special effects of war scenes look real and there are plenty of shocking scenes during the fights. And performance of the cast was good. When survivors found that they were the left ones in this world, they could show the depression and they could also show their determination to survive and take revenge.

In order to portray the sad feeling of those characters, director tried to use different ways to run the camera. And this had given audiences a full view to know more about how those characters feel and how sad they were.

Of course, this movie would not just focus on killing and fighting. There would be explanation to background of attacks and you would know why the Picts could destroy their enemies in a short period of time.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the atmosphere of this movie is similar to that of Warrior 300, and so if you love that movie you would probably love this one. If you hated that movie you may not like this one as well. And if you did not watch Warrior, you could consider watching this one and see if you really like this type of movie.

And you would also love to watch this movie if you are interested in watching historical movies. Despite the fact that this movie is not talking about the real history, you could still know more about life of people centuries ago.

To conclude, Centurion is a worth watching movie if you do not mind watching bloody scenes. And for people who would like to look at the life of ancient warriors, this would be a good film. You could hardly see people fighting with bare hands nowadays but in that period of time, fighting with bare hand was normal and you could know the differences between army today and ancient fighters. You would easily find that those fighters are admirable because they were strong and they had the bravery.

A killer is the type of movie than one can say has never been released before. It is not a pure comedy but is made of situations that can be considered hilarious. It has created its own world as the comedy runs parallel to the action in the movie. If you are the type to be pleased with difficulty, you should definitely avoid the movie because this is just pointless, senseless humor made to relax a person and not intrigue any seriousness.

The script is such that it seems as if Mr. & Mrs. Smith are being played again by a different angle. Robert Luketic in general put up a very good show as he knew what emotion to stop at what time. Katherine Heigl has been successful in showing us that she can add humor in the movie and Ashton Kutcher is reputed to be the same. However, in this case, Heigl came across better than Kutcher. He came across as an actor who lacked any talent.

The pace of the movie is good but this type of a movie has been shown before but through different variations. Where it is not pathetic, it isn’t that great either. The typical story of the girl vacationing with her parents and then meeting the man of her dreams is nothing new. After the first half of the movie and hell breaking lose, it turns out that all the characters shown in the first half turned out to be Kutcher’s killers.

It depends on what you expect from the movie before watching it and let me remind you not to keep your expectations that high. Even though it might be considered a torture at one point or other, it still manages to make your laugh. Whether it is because you or confused or just numb, you are still laughing! If you want to watch a romantic comedy cum action flick movie then you should wait for the first hour and then let the movie be magical with the sexy, fun and outrageous scenarios. The first hour is only concerned with the romantic bit of the movie.

People are even ranking it as the funniest movie they have seen so far this year. The movie answers humor all the way and is a fun movie in general. With the cast that consists of Russell Brand, Diddy and Jonah Hill, the movie keeps bringing in the comic side of it throughout.

It opens with the video of Aldo Snow and goes on to continue to show the situation of the present day and has the perfect beginning for the movie. There is a lot of emotion in the movie buried under the wit and sarcasm and let Russell Brand do the rest of the talking! Jonah Hill is seen come out of his comfort zone and delivers the role of a good, under confident guys. Diddy is the shocker of the movie as he is the most hilarious of them all. The script is brilliantly written and this makes the movie a must-watch.

The plot of the movie is unusual and a little different that what you normally see. You will find a lot of scenes missing in the movie that are actually from the trailer and even though you might consider it good because those are the scenes you have actually seen, you keep waiting for them to show up! However, if you have not seen Sarah Marshall then you are most likely to be a little lost.

The film is actually a great rock picture that portrays the life of a rock star that is no more the ‘hot shot’ and is now trying to bring the spark back. Brand was awesome on his part as he made you believe he really was the rock star as he sexes his character up and adds the drugs and rock star feel to it. He acts as the person who let fame get the best of him and now turned out to be a total mess. It is an actual rock and roll movie that makes your summers more laughable.

Everything about this movie is huge but yet it turns out to be believable. Even though it is a classic comedy, you are still trying to figure out what the next move will be, making the movie all the more enjoyable.
