I saw this movie at the world premiere and I had the pleasure of congratulating Jay and Nicolas on this great Disney achievement. I have always been a big movie goer since a young age and enjoy a broad range of films. As of late Disney has not brought forth any movies I have loved till now, and between Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, and Alfred Molina the movie had great chemistry. The music and the fight scenes have Jerry Bruckheimer splashed all over them (can be compared to Pirates of the Caribbean). As for Nicolas Cage, many people I spoke with before and after the movie didn’t believe he could pull off the roll of a “Sorcerer,” yet his perception of Balthazar Blake as a wise, cunning, determined, witty, heart broken wizard gave the movie such positive energy and strength. Jay was perfect as Dave bringing his classic, nerdy, innocent character, to the table as seen in many of his other films. His character represents Disney’s persona of good, and paired with Cage’s interpretation of Balthazar there is a plethora of hilarity,and anticipation. Alfred Molina playing the apposing force, Maxim Horvath, provided the movie with just the right amount of darkness to cater to the younger and older generations. Through out the movie Molina’s character, Horvath, has a twisted mix of respect and hatred for Cage’s character, Balthazar, and the two of them feed off the energy very well to create a great amount of conflict and excitement. These conflicts help detract from the typical corny air that many Disney movies have, because they usually cater to a younger audience. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice does cater to a younger audience, but also provides enough action, suspense, and humor to cater to those of the older generation, making it a great family movie. So to anyone who is questioning whether or not to see the film I highly recommend it!!! It is a great modern spin of the Disney Fantasia classic with, comedy, action, suspense, and romance, that makes it appreciable to all. Between the awesome cast, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Jon Turteltaub, the movie represents the real meaning behind the magic of Disney.

THE BUZZ: Alongside The Expendables, Scott P. easily is one of the most anticipated (and hyped-up) summer movies. Awareness is high and the marketing here has been spot-on; what is unclear is whether the combined powers of Edgar Wright and Michael Cera can defeat the black hole that is the August box office. Even the toughest reviewers are rooting for this one.

Review:

The tagline for this film is “An Epic of Epic Epicness” and I couldn’t agree more. After waiting in line for 3 hours after last night’s Comic-Con and finally being sat in the gorgeous Balboa Theater, I didn’t know what to expect. I loved the comics and the previews looked faithful. The moment the movie starts (literally; the Universal logo and theme are 8-bit) you are thrown into a comic book atmosphere with video game references aplenty.

The plot revolves around Scott Pilgrim needing to defeat the 7 Evil Exes of Ramona Flowers in order to date her and it is a harrowing sequence of battles. Each fight is crazier than the last and some are used purely for comedy, not excitement. Almost every other line is a punchline and they all work. References to TV shows, video games and comics (just like a 20-something’s life would include) are everywhere and if you accept the concept of the plot, it all feels natural.

While the audience might’ve been biased (we held a 10-minute standing ovation for Edgar Wright when the movie finished) there’s no denying that it’s an excellent film. Edgar Wright has an uncanny sense of comic timing with edits and sound cues to make the picture tight and focused when it’s looking for laughs.

I can’t imagine a mainstream theater erupting in applause and laughter like ours did but make no mistake; this a crowd pleaser and the MOST enjoyable film I’ve seen in years. Don’t hesitate to watch this masterpiece in a theater near you.

The Back-up plan is a combination of romance and comedy. It is one of the Jennifer Lopez romantic movies. The image of Jenifer appears to be a lonely woman who keeps waiting for someone. The movie starts with Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) being pregnant walking away from the hospital and meeting her Mr. Right.

Then the film introduces Alex O’Loughlin who is known as Stan in the movie. Stan in the movie is a farmer. He has divorced his wife who was a Swedish woman due to some reasons. He then moved to New York. In New York he worked as a farmer and owned a goat farm and makes his own cheese. He used to go to the farmer’s market in the day time and at night he used to attend the community college.

On the other hand Zoe steals other people’s cabs and before that she used to have a non-specific job in an internet company. Both Zoe and Stan seem really different kind of persons from their actual personalities. There are some of the things that are really irrelevant to the main story and become sometimes irritating. There are most of the things that are weird and unrealistic.

There are certain incidences that make the movie a bit different. Stan and Zoe become closer and pass time with each other. They have sex and Zoe then tells Stan that she is pregnant. They then visit a doctor and some weird things happen there. Then as the movie proceeds they discover many things related to giving birth to a child and bearing all that pain and even the problems after having kids.

The characters in the movie are indifferent. The movie becomes sometimes so weird and irritating that a person disagrees with the things going on. The characters are not stable as they have different personalities from what they are up to. The scenes are also sometimes terrifying. The whole unique sensation has made movie and overall masterpiece. It has been widely welcomed by people from all around the world having many of the excellent people acting roles.

The director Anurag Basu directed his first big budget movie Kites. Rakesh Roshan was not sure about the success of Kites. Although Hrithik Roshan was the leading actor in the movie but still the movie could not do the business it was supposed to do. The songs were not properly shot; the heroine was a new girl who was unknown to everyone. The use of different languages was confusing and irritating as the audience could not understand the dialogues said in a hurry.

The tailors of the movie created an image that it would be a huge success as the scenes and the actions seemed to be good. But the movie itself did not have a good story. Kites contain a nice love story that may be attractive to some of the viewers.  The movie starts with the impression that Hrithik Roshan would be a person who can never fall in love. But then he takes several dangerous steps for the sake of his love.  Both of the lovers were in deep love and the director showed this passion very beautifully.

Anurag displays his story in such a way that his characters look like they are facing those situations in reality and that makes the audience feel the problems faced by the characters in the film and in this way the audience start liking the film. Same is the case with Kites the songs are although not properly shot but they look nice on situations that they match. The hero and the heroine could not even understand each other’s languages but still they had great feelings for each other and they could understand each other. The dance was awesome as Hrithik Roshan danced very well and managed to perform well and according to his character.

The movie was more like a Hollywood movie as the story was not more like the typical Bollywood movies.  The international audience also was interested in watching Kites.  The songs were more emotional and heart touching. I liked the songs as they were polite in tone and the lyrics were very beautiful. The film was not a bad one but as compared to the budget that was spend on the movie. Hrithik gave his best to the movie through his acting and dancing, the girl was although new but she also acted well.

The movie “A nightmare on Elm Street’ released in 1984 was directed by the superb director Michael Bay who has been the director of a number of superb films like Pearl Harbor and Transformers.

This movie is the remake of the 1984’s “a nightmare on Elm Street”. The film doesn’t seem bad if you take a look at the people working with the name. The movie’s screenplay has been co-written by Wesley Strick who has worked with some of the good directors making out a good movie and not only this, the actor is Oscar nominated, Jackie Earle Haley. Well so far, the movie cast and director must have had sounded convincing but, when it comes to the movie, it is astonishingly true that the remake is just a worst attempt with the best people attached to it.

The movie has got a popular and an award winning music video director Samuel Bayer still he too wasn’t able to make the movie better with some suspenseful changes. The movie completely lacks the tension or suspense, something which is really essential for the horror lovers.

The movie has got a number of major issues making it more uninteresting for viewers. The first is the lacking of scary factor when it comes to Freddy (Haley). He is having a tiny frame and a puny voice which isn’t scary but boring. Another problem with the movie is the lack of makeup when Freddy is show as a burnt victim. The makeup does not even look close to realistic and this makes Freddy not scary at all.

A remake of the movie must come with some new factors such as creative new “kills” present in it to make it a bit unique from the already made movie but there are none. There are only a few thoughts when it comes to kills, and the good ones are taken from the 1984 version.

The movie comes with mostly identical scenes and this isn’t liked by the fans of the previous versions. The movie also lacks good acting. When all these factors are taken together, the movie surely is a disaster and time wastage.

Will Ferrell and Mark Whalberg are The Other guys. The Other guys is Will Ferrell’s funniest and most fun film since Anchorman,which was his masterpiece. THere is a lot to admire here. The film is similar to Cop out, only funny.

In the police force, there are cops who get into car chases and shoot down bad guys. The real deal. Then,there are The other guys(Ferrell and Whalberg). Allen(Ferrell) is a goofy cop who doesn’t really care about his job.But Terry(Whalberg) is quite the opposite. He really cares about his job. This is part of the reason why they don’t get along.

So, after the real deal cops die, they decide to try and take their place. The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock as the better cops, Eva Mendes as Allen’s wife,who he seems to not care about, Michael Keaton as the chief, Steve Coogan as the guy they’re after, and more.

I had a blast with The Other guys. It’s the first Will Ferrell comedy in years that could become a classic. Anchorman was an instant classic. This is his best comedy since Anchorman. That’s my opinion.

The film goes in the tradition of films like Rush hour and Lethal weapon. But it goes a little further than the level of Rush hour. Cause here both actors are very likable. Unlike Rush hour,which I only payed attention to do to Chris Tucker.

I appreciated Mark Whalberg’s role in this film. After seeing him in a film like The Departed where he plays such a serious cop, here he plays such a serious cop but in comedy form. I enjoyed The Other guys. It’s hilarious,fun and exciting.Originality?I don’t know. But you forget about that. Enjoy yourself.

The film is about a family that has working parents and young children to take care of. The film throws light upon different aspects on such family life in a funny way. The cast of the movie is Steve Carell playing role of Fosters Phil and Tina Fey playing role of Claire. They are living a married life and are having young children. They are having working days and restless nights whenever they get time, they try to go out for date nights by leaving the kids with a baby sitter.

The best thing about the movie is that the couple is a good comedian and this adds a lot to the viewer experience. They just keep on the laughter coming all time and never fail in making the audience laugh. The best parts of the movie are mostly parts where they have brought in a comedy touch to the dialogues or the scene as a whole.

There are some funny points in the movie such as the one when they speak a lie to get a table in restaurant and then ruin their date when thugs, cops and a fat Mark Wahlberg is on their back.

The director has introduced some of the elements in the scenes that make movie more hilarious. In between pursuits the factor of comedy is also present.

The movie has kept the things coming straight through a point and has a number of cast appearances of well recognized faces such as Will.I.Am, Mark Ruffalo, James Franco and Mila Kunis.

Steve Carell and Tina Fey share an excellent chemistry. The movie shows the routine of an average couple with kids. How they have to help each other and sacrifice their own interests in order to build up a strong family life. They show how a couple goes through a tough routine throughout the day, working hours in office and then taking care of children in evening.

If you are not busy with some other work, I will advice you to watch till the end of credits as there is a lot of entertainment stuff such as pictures with hilarious poses.

The movie “get him to the Greek” is one of the funniest movies of the year. The main character of story is Russell Brand. Russell brand was good in forgetting Sarah Marshall but looking a movie that is just focusing on him is not a good thinking but once you get to the movie you’ll never regret about it. If you are a fun lover and like comedy movies such as The Hangover and Superbad then you will be really enjoying this movie. The movie comes with a great starring and is a complete bunch of crude comedy for about 108 minutes.

Russell Brand, Jonah Hill and Diddy are having a great humorous character. The movie has a couple of dialogues which will be loved by the viewers if they are really interested in comedy. Most of the people think that the movie made them laugh the most as compared to any other comedy they had watched.

The movie comes with a perfect beginning showing the downfall of Aldous snow’s music video and his career’s complete disaster. The cast of movie is the best in comedy world. Russell brand is a name whose words act as a masterpiece of comedy. Diddy has made an unbelievable acting effort. Diddy is unbelievably hilarious throughout the movie and the selection of dialogues has been superb. Though there is the factor of vulgarity present but a master piece like this is fine even if it is with something vulgar.

Diddy acts as an executive of record company and Aaron green is his employee. When asked for a profitable idea for company Aaron green says that if Aldous performs at the 10^th anniversary of a Greek theatre, it would be good. He is sent to bring Aldous for the theatre performance. During this attempt he leaves his girlfriend and enters into world of drugs giving out really hilarious results. The movie is really worth watching for all comedy fans out there.

The movie is hilarious still has got a creative plot. One interesting thing about the movie unlike any other is the exclusion of scenes already shown in the trailer.

Most people I know are going to see this film for Julia Roberts. It is that mysterious link that film stars create with their audiences. We develop a sort of craving to see them again. So a new Julia Roberts movie? Sure. Absolutely. I’m only a few years younger than Julia Roberts which means we have grown together. So, to see her play a woman facing a sort of middle age crisis makes you look inwards with a smile, the nervous kind. I must also say I’m a guy, heterosexual, but not fanatically so. I don’t have the fears that, Jay Leno for instance, shows, when confronted by a “chick flick” If anything “Eat Pray Love” proves that men and women are not that far apart, we simply deal with the same problems in different ways. Here, the filmmakers don’t shy away from the conflict and the balance is real. Julia’s husband, played beautifully by Billy Crudup, accuses her of leaving the marriage without an explanation. He is the one with the broken heart. In Italy, Julia eats and our own gastric juices start to do their thing. I glanced at my watch, I was ready to run into the nearest Italian restaurant and have a relationship with a pizza myself. Italy, Rome and even Naples look so clean that I hardly recognized it. CGI? Luca Argentero plays Julia’s tutor/tourist guide. He is a good looking guy that after appearing in the Italian version of the Big Brother reality show, he became a sort of local movie star and shows promising acting chops. Here, strangely enough, he looks small but charming all the same. India brings the wonderful Richard Jenkins and a solid piece of advise: “don’t give up on love” Bali, well, Bali is something else and it is there that Javier Bardem comes into the picture and provides us with the best scene in the film. I’m not going to tell you what it is but let me just say that involves his son and gives us, finally, a side of Julia we didn’t know how much we missed. Empathy. Feeling something for somebody else’s feelings. I think I may see the film a second time just to see that scene again. I also should mention that James Franco plays a young actor – not what I call a stretch – considering he is my favorite of the young actors around. I will challenge other members of my sex to go and see it. Not to be afraid to feel identified or even chocked up. I can assure you it’s not going to diminish you manliness in any way and will awake your appetites, big time.

How to train your dragon is the latest movie in 3D releases. The film is directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders.

The main character of the movie Hiccup is voiced by Jay Baruchel who is a guy who is more brains than any of his warrior group mates. The mates are taught to fight against dragons to defend their village from deadly attacks from dragons that set the village on fire and to prevent the dragons from eating up all of their livestock. The kid wants to help his people in whatsoever way he can, but he is not appreciated of his unique capabilities even by his own father Stoick, who is being voiced by Gerard Butler.

The story goes on with the development of relation between the beasts and Hiccup, when he tries to save a beast (Toothless) that is the few of its kind left. This well being by human changes things a lot and results in a friendly environment between humans and the beasts. The story is the basic strength of the film and is perfect for all types of audience. A lot of effort has been put up in creation of 3D characters and the character look more real rather than a 3D effect.

The movie comes with an ordinary story which contains the factor of misunderstandings between father and the son, along with the usual “zero turns a hero” theme but the way things have been put up is really different and this makes the usual things unusual for audience.

The dragon creature lovers will come across different ideas in the film that will make them appreciate it.

The dragon has been nicely created with the help of 3D technology. The beast is designed similar to Lilo, another dragon designed by the same co-director in another movie. The dragon has been put up in a lovely character that is mischievous and apprehensive.

Action lovers will find an action series that is completely error free and a 3D creation beyond the past works. The sets are wonderfully crafted and work superb with the audience. Moreover, the fights are incredible and humorous which make it more interesting.
