Most people I know are going to see this film for Julia Roberts. It is that mysterious link that film stars create with their audiences. We develop a sort of craving to see them again. So a new Julia Roberts movie? Sure. Absolutely. I’m only a few years younger than Julia Roberts which means we have grown together. So, to see her play a woman facing a sort of middle age crisis makes you look inwards with a smile, the nervous kind. I must also say I’m a guy, heterosexual, but not fanatically so. I don’t have the fears that, Jay Leno for instance, shows, when confronted by a “chick flick” If anything “Eat Pray Love” proves that men and women are not that far apart, we simply deal with the same problems in different ways. Here, the filmmakers don’t shy away from the conflict and the balance is real. Julia’s husband, played beautifully by Billy Crudup, accuses her of leaving the marriage without an explanation. He is the one with the broken heart. In Italy, Julia eats and our own gastric juices start to do their thing. I glanced at my watch, I was ready to run into the nearest Italian restaurant and have a relationship with a pizza myself. Italy, Rome and even Naples look so clean that I hardly recognized it. CGI? Luca Argentero plays Julia’s tutor/tourist guide. He is a good looking guy that after appearing in the Italian version of the Big Brother reality show, he became a sort of local movie star and shows promising acting chops. Here, strangely enough, he looks small but charming all the same. India brings the wonderful Richard Jenkins and a solid piece of advise: “don’t give up on love” Bali, well, Bali is something else and it is there that Javier Bardem comes into the picture and provides us with the best scene in the film. I’m not going to tell you what it is but let me just say that involves his son and gives us, finally, a side of Julia we didn’t know how much we missed. Empathy. Feeling something for somebody else’s feelings. I think I may see the film a second time just to see that scene again. I also should mention that James Franco plays a young actor – not what I call a stretch – considering he is my favorite of the young actors around. I will challenge other members of my sex to go and see it. Not to be afraid to feel identified or even chocked up. I can assure you it’s not going to diminish you manliness in any way and will awake your appetites, big time.

Review:

After nearly a decade of disappointments Stallone shocked the movie world by making a 6th emotionally charged Rocky, he then went on to please fans by taking Rambo into a visceral brutally realistic war movie, now for his hat trick Stallone gave us something old and something new ‘The Expendables’ the type of movie kids dreamed about the early 90′s, what if this guy & that guy and him where all in a film together. A little too late? Hell no! Never has this film been more needed. In a land of watered down PG-13 wire work action movies real action fans where desperate for some real old school action. (Cobra, Commando, Delta Force, Last Boy Scout..) The great thing about this film is even if it didn’t have the cast it still would be a great action movie, the fact it has such a jaw dropping cast just makes it all the better. Stallone is growing as an action director, he brought some of his tense brutal techniques from Rambo but was smart enough to go a little old school for other scenes. Their are some very kinetic action sequences but not Parkinson’s suffering cameraman techniques like the Bourn films.

The main focus of the team are Stallone & Statham, they really have a good Old Dog, New Dog friendship. Lundgren (My favourite character) gets a an interesting sub plot. Unfortunately Li, Couture & Crews get pushed to the background but they do get some great scenes to shine. (Hopefully they can get some more development in the sequel.

Roberts and his Henchman Stone Cold Steve Austin shine as the brutal villains. Gary Danials however was really underused I was expecting some Bennet style lines. At least he got one of the best fights of the movies.

Of coarse the scene everyone was talking about was the Stallone, Schwarzenegger & Willis scene. Which was one of the funniest parts of the movie. Their attempt to put each other down while out manning each other worked brilliantly and Willis threatening Stallone alone is worth the ticket price.

A slight nag about the film is at the very end some CGI did crop up, in the form of fire. After all the practical stunts throughout the movie including one great Truck chase I was a little disappointed not to see a stuntman in a fire suit.

If this had just been Stallone’s baby with a few unknown actors I’d give this film 8/10 BUT the fact we get to see Stallone, Statham, Li, Lundgren, Couture, Crews, Roberts, Rourke, Danials with Willis & Schwarzenegger punch, kick, stab, mouth off and blow up each other cranks it up to a 9.5/10 for me.

Bring on Expendables II

Twelve is a drama film for American which is directed by Joel Schumacher. This movie is written by Jordan Melamed and it is adapted from Nick McDonell’s novel which is having the same name as this movie. This movie would tell a story about drug addiction, sex and violence among teenagers who are wealthy.

White Mike is a teenager who is a privileged son of the restaurant tycoon. And Twelve is a story about him. He is one of the various drug dealers in this country. He took his school life off in order to sell drugs. The target of him was the wealthy peers of him. When he is not try to sell drugs, he would be trying to live in the dream of his childhood.

Yes, this is a typical movie which could help people understand more about the thinking of teenagers. You will find that there are many people who try hard to work in this society in order to get the recognition from their parents. But many of them could not be successful and they would therefore turn to drugs and other kinds of teenage problems.

They think that they could not get the love from their parents and they could only try to find love from peers. They would not want to be hurt so they would try to hurt the others instead. They think that love could not be maintained for a long period of time so they would decide to have casual sex and love with the others. All these problems are troubling the society indeed.

While parents are blamed for failing to teach their kids, parents would say that it is the fault of the society. They may think that problem comes because both of them have to work in order to earn a living for the family.

No people could stay at home and things would happen on their kids and they would not behave well. And some may say that their kids want to earn money for shopping so they sell drugs and there is no problem regarding parents.

But after watching this movie, parents may be inspired. As you may know, this movie would feature many teenagers who are wealthy. They do not have the problems of money but they still try to do those things such as drug taking. The reason is that family love is not felt by these people. They might have a perfect childhood indeed. But when they gradually grow up, parents could not figure out a proper way to communicate with them. As a result, these teenagers would lose their direction and these teenagers would try to use things such as drugs to hide themselves from the reality.

To conclude, this movie has a deep investigation on the mindset of teenagers and director hope that parents could learn this and try to communicate with the teenagers so as to solve the problem. Government could hardly help and this is a kind of family matter. If you have this kind of problem, you could watch this movie and you may get inspired.

The Tillman Story is popular in the country. It is a new documentary directed by an experienced documentary director, Amir Bar-Lev. This movie is about death of a guy called Pat Tawllman.

When Pat Tallman tried to give up his career in professional football to join Army Ranger in year 2002, he received plenty of praises. He was regarded as an instant symbol for patriotic fervor as well as unflinching duty. However, the truth about this man’s story is very complicated and it could hardly be explained simply using these few sentences. Ultimately, the action that he took is more heroic. Therefore, the action of this guy touched the whole nation and people would like to commemorate him. Therefore, The Tallman Story was produced in other to let people remember him all the time.

This movie is definitely a very touching story. In this movie, you will be able to know more about the belief of this guy and you will also know something about how the parents of Tallman thought when he decided to quit football and enter the Army. They did not want to miss their son but they decided to let their son to decide.

If you were they, you may also regret for letting your son to enter the army and lose the life. However, if you know that there are things hidden by the government, would you be angry more than regret? Yes, according to the director of this movie, something went wrong and the family of Tallman wanted to know more about the truth. They did not want to be cheated and they would like to use this documentary to find the truth.

For people who know about the name of Tallman and who are surprised with the death of this famous, kind-hearted man, they could try to watch this movie and understand more about the life of him. Besides, you would understand something about the army of the US nowadays. After watching this movie, you may learn more about what is happening in this country and what are being done by our previous government.

We do hope that things could be changed in Obama’s government. But would it be possible? It is yet to know indeed. But with this movie, people could have a chance to understand why politicians and some peace groups always want the government to stop doing wrong things in those war zones. You may also understand more about the reasons why people criticize those wars as a wrongful act.

Many people watching this movie would feel angry and some may cry due to the death of Tallman. If you do not mind filling your mind with these feelings, you may consider watching it.

Therefore, this movie is worth supporting. If you love to watch documentary about life of a person, this movie is up to standard and you will definitely enjoy it. Even though you may not be interested in watching documentary, this movie could still be suitable to you if you want to know why people are doing anti-war campaigns.

The Extra Man is based on the novel written by Jonathan Ames. This is a comedy indeed. This film is written and directed by Robert Pulcini as well as Shari Springer Berman.

In this movie, Henry Harrison is a failed playwright who tried to develop a mentor relationship with Louis, who is a cross-dressing writer. Henry sublets a room in the New York apartment to Louis and he taught Louis things about how to be an extra man. In this movie, Louis experienced many different things and he eventually learned plenty of useful things including how to keep a good relationship with the others.

In this movie, there would not be plenty of super movie stars. And there would be plenty of rotten jokes indeed. If you are not used to some bad jokes you may think that this movie is not interesting at all. This is also the reason why some people are not interested in watching this movie and they would think that this movie is not worth watching.

The focus of this movie would not be on normal things like love between couples or family love. Instead, you will learn plenty of things about life and you will learn some words from the elderly. Henry in this movie is an old man who experienced plenty of things and he has his own set of thinking towards some things. Of course, some of the things suggested by him would be quite odd because he is not really smart in everything. However, in some aspects his words may inspire people even though the words sound ridiculous.

Besides, you can also experience the change on Louis in the film. At the beginning he may not be able to communicate with the others confidently but gradually he would be brave enough in fighting for the things that he wants to have. Therefore, this is something that may really happen on you if you watch this movie. You may change your life because some of the ideas of life may be instilled in your mind and you will therefore be able to overcome the difficulties easily.

Apart from these, you will experience the special relationship between the two people. They were unknown to each other at the beginning. However, after staying with each other and communicating with each other, things changed and they could understand more about each other and they became friends of each other.

Despite the fact that there are some boring scenes in this movie, it is still worth watching. But if you hate people talking something funny without laughing, this movie would surely be one of the movies which you would hate.

The American is a movie upcoming. It is actually a kind of drama thriller directed by Anton Corbijn. In this film, one of the most popular stars would probably by George Clooney. The American is a kind of adaption of a novel in 1990. It was called A Very Private Gentleman and it was written by Martin Booth. Focus Features is the producer of this movie and it is scheduled to be released in the first day of September in 2010.

Besides Clooney, this movie also stars Irina Bjorklund, Paolo Bonacelli as well as Thekla Reuten. The plot of this movie is quite thrilling. Clooney acts as an assassin called Jack and he is always alone. After he finished a job in Sweden, he retreated to countryside of Italy and took a rest. The job in Sweden was tough and he did not expect to have that kind of touch ending. Therefore, he tried hard to get rid of the bad feeling in Italy. And later, he tried to create a weapon for Mathide, a mysterious contact.

Due to restriction of his job, Jack could hardly trust the others. Therefore, he could not have any friends. But when he tried to visit mountains of Abruzzo, he met some people and he finally accepted friendship from Father Benedetto. He tried to pursue a beautiful woman called Clara also.

Up till now, you may be able to write the second part of this story. While George was in love with his favorite Clara, troublesome things come and he had to defend with Clara and protect this woman. Being assassin, George normally has plenty of enemies and he had to overcome difficulties on his own.

If you are one of the fans of George Clooney, you will surely love this movie. As you may know, one of the focuses of this movie is definitely this guy. He has starred in many different movies and he has devoted in different roles indeed. If you are a fan of him, you may also admit that he could handle every kind of character easily. There would not be serious problems whenever he participates in a movie. Therefore, this movie would be a must-watch one if you are going to experience the charm of him.

Overall, this movie is worth watching as well. You will find that there are plenty of exciting scenes in this movie. And you will experience the change of mind of Jack. He did not trust anybody before but gradually, he learned to open up his mind. He thought many things in mind before he decided to open up his mind.

But when he made this decision, things happen and he has to become the cool assassin. Could he overcome the difficulties and remain open minded after the crisis? Well, this would not be told here or otherwise you may not feel interested in watching it on your own.

To conclude, if you wish to watch a movie which could bring you laughter as well as excitement, this movie would be a good choice.

Now Grown-Ups is an excellent movie to teenagers. The movie is centered around them. Hot girls, funny jokes, sports, etc. Anyways I’ve read a couple comments and the people who hate on this movie are probably out of their teen years. My opinion is Grown-Ups is a very funny comedy. Now sure it doesn’t have a plot but that doesn’t make it stop from being a good movie. Plus the PG-13 rating is perfect because little kids and teenagers can watch it.

I also have to ask why do people complain and complain? Multiple reviews comment about the marriages in the movie. No way someone that fat can get someone that hot! Really? It’s a movie. I mean look at Avatar? No one says “Hey, Pandora isn’t real! Let’s hate on it!” Movies don’t need to be realistic they just need to appeal to people. It certainly appeals to me and to many other people.

That’s what I think people can argue with me but that’s their opinion.

Machete is an action film which is co-written by Robert Rodriguez as well as Ethan Maniquis. Besides writing this film, these two people are also responsible for producing and directing the movie. Therefore, this movie could be regarded as the lovely son of these two people. It is the expansion of a trailer released with their product Grindhouse in 2007. At that time, it was just a fake trailer. But now, it has become a real movie.

This movie continues the exploitation style as well as the B movie of Grindhouse. For instance, there is the same footage. In this movie, Danny Trejo had starred in lead role for the first time and he was as the Machete. In the past, he played another role called Machete also in Spy Kids franchise directed by Rodriquez. But they are not actually the same. Even though the name is the same it is not the same indeed because they are two separate characters.

This story is about Machete, who is a former “Mexican Federale”. He encountered a shakedown with the druglord starred by Steven Seagal. Therefore, he roams to Taxas in order to work in yard so that he could get money. But while Machete tried to stay peace, Michael Benz, who is a local businessman, told him that something happen to the country. He told Machete that a Senator called McLaughlin was going to send illegal immigrants from the country.

Therefore, he wanted Machete to kill McLaughlin so that the corrupt Senator would not bring trouble to Benz. Machete accepted the offer with reward of $150,000. But in the process of trying to assassinate McLaughlin, he was shot by another killer employed by Benz.

At that time Machete found that he was betrayed by Benz and he had to use his own way to overcome all difficulties so as to reveal the truth for all people as well as to take revenge on Benz. Yes, this movie may make you feel very complicated and you may hardly follow the things in this movie. According to some audiences who have watched this movie, they would not be able to follow the plots of this movie easily.

But some other people think that this movie is not very complicated, comparing with other movies. Therefore, you may not need to worry about complexity of this movie indeed. You just need to think whether you are interested in watching action movies.

If you are interested in watching action movies, you would not think that this movie is boring. Instead, you will understand that this movie is exciting. Even though you may fail to follow the plot and the happenings in this movie, you may still be able to enjoy the excitement because there are plenty of fighting scenes and stunt scenes.

The cast of this movie is not very popular. But they could show their unique style. For instance, you may fail to view Bruce Wills from another perspective because in your mind he is the hero in Die Hard. Therefore, these new guys may give you a fresh feeling.

Tekken is a film about martial arts. It is to be released in 2010. This movie is directed by Dwight Little and it is based on a game series called Tekken. This movie follows Jin Kazema, who wishes to enter Iron Fist Tournament so as to avenge loss of his dearest mother, Jun. He through that his grandfather had the responsibility for his mother’s death. Therefore, he decided to work very hard in training himself to be professional fighter so that he could take revenge.

Winner of Iron Fist Tournament would be the King of it and he would be able to enjoy a stardom and wealth for a lifetime. Therefore, Jin had to overcome challenges from various parties and the road for him to become successful is never smooth. He had to overcome plenty of hardships in order to win eventually. He was raised by his dearest mother Jun in a peaceful situation indeed.

In order to make sure that Jin could protect himself, Jun tried to train Jin with various kinds of martial arts. Jun treated Jin very well but she never told Jin anything about his father. She just told Jin that his father was dead. Whenever Jin tried to ask his mother things related to his father, his mother would end the conversation by simply saying ‘that is all’.

During the crackdown of Tekken City’s slum area, Jin’s mother was killed. After the death of his mother, Jin was very frustrated and he felt guilty for the death of her mother. In the ruins of his home, he found the Tekken Fighter I.D. which belongs to her mother.

With this I.D., Jin gradually discovered many facts that he had never known. And he understood many things that he had never thought of. He found information about his father as well as grandfather and he discovered that he had to work hard in the Tournament in order to take the things that he need in order to make her dead mother feel good. Therefore, he utilized his best martial arts skills to fight and worked very hard in the process.

If you have played the game series of Tekken before, you may understand the plot easily and you would not need to spend a lot of time on catching up with the plot at the beginning of this movie.

Of course, even though you did not play this game before you could still handle the plot of this movie. It is because the director of this movie used the perspective of a beginner of Tekken to make this movie. All things would be introduced in this movie and you would not find it hard to follow everything in this movie. For people who are used to watch movies about how a good son fights for his mother, this movie would be their favorite.

Inevitably, there would be plenty of fighting scenes in this movie. And you may find that it is hard to tolerate some of the bloody scenes. If you hate blood and bloody scenes in movie, this movie may not be suitable.
